help with IndivisionAGA-MK2cr
I boot my A1200 into PAL mode to play AquaByss and for some reason when entering a citys trade/contracts screen it switches from a PAL screen to a NTSC screen which cuts off the bottom of the screen ?
Any idea how to avoid this happening |

You could try some kind of memory resident degrader in case those make the machine "more PAL".
For example http://aminet.net/package/util/boot/bootctrl allows you to specify the default screen mode for subsequent boots. |

He's asking for help with the IndivisionAGA-MK2cr. The Indivision should not cut parts of the screen, no matter if PAL or NTSC. You may need to correctly assign the screenmode to use for NTSC (or PAL - whatever is the issue). However, this is better asked in the icomp forums.

It could also be an AquaByss problem when run on an NTSC machine.

good points I think I'll bring this up on the iComp support forum since I'm pretty sure it's an IndiMK2cr issue as it's not the most 'friendliest' piece of hardware to setup
@ Jope I also tried booting up with NTSC and same issue with cut off bottoms of screens & some are PAL and some are NTSC ? |

update from Jens over at icomp forums:
"Indivision AGA MK2 (and MK2cr) will switch between screen modes based on the mode that the A1200 is sending out. If the frequency is "TV-like", but the number of lines isn't enough for PAL, it will assume it's NTSC. I'd assume that this specific game is messing with the number of lines that it produces, and Indivision will make a wrong decision based on the non-standard output. You're the first to report this after more than 12 years since the product has been released, so it may just be the version of the game that you're running. You may be lucky and find a different (maybe patched) version that fixes this. Indivision AGA MK3 has the option to change the "number of lines" criterion for every screen mode, and it will also display the number of lines that it finds on the OSD. We could use this to get to gather some data on the game itself, but it will only support my assumption of the cause, not provide a fix for you." |
