Question on hardfile/filesystem
Hello there,
I'm new here and know winfellow from uae-searches to build an adf-file. Now I want to try install workbench and tools into a hardfile. So I read faq at http://fellow.sourceforge.net/new_ve....php?item_no=5 but the drive isn't shown if I boot wb from floppy. So I can't format it and install. My rom version is 3.1 (40.063). What's wrong here, any tipps? I also tried to use a directoy called "Harddisc" as hard drive and used faq entry http://fellow.sourceforge.net/new_ve....php?item_no=8 for help. It's also invisible to me. Do I use a wrong kickstart? |

hmn, I dont think you're doing anything wrong- I just checked myself- seems like the latest version has a bug with that - I'll submit a bug report now

Well, I don't think its a bug, because I tried now older versions (back to 4.2 build 1), same there. Or maybe its a general problem and no one post it, because no one tried to use hardfile.
Do you wrote back, if there are any interessting information on this? |

I've written a message to the guys- they should be aware of the bug now.
I cant remember teh actual version I used, but it was well over a year old now- so its probably before they started converting the code from Assembly to C. - that did work a while ago, its just I never really needed to test out the hd tools within winfellow after I got my A1200 all sorted and stocked up :-D |

i have dos-fellow on a older machine with wb 3.1 on hardfile. All i did was creating and installing the hardfile from winuae, so you only need to boot it up on fellow. If on dos-fellow works, i think that should work on the windows version too.
I have been using this install with the dos-fellow and works like a charm, shame that the dos version only permits a max of 8 mb fast mem and 2 chip, but is enough for me in that machine. Hope this help you. |
