kick a 3.2 rom on a CD32 with TF330?
I have a CD32 with a TF330 and I recently got 3.2 for my A1200 I would like to run it on my CD32 but it only has one rom socket so could I do it in software somehow? I had heard something about MMU libs but I have a black top 030 does that even have MMU?

Pehaps it's doable with LoadModule but you will lose the CD Drive & Akiko i think because they aren't in the 3.2 ROM for A1200

You don't need a ROM for WB 3.2. The CD32 will boot from the 3.2 CD into what they call the pre-installation environment. From there you can partition the harddrive and install the OS.
On first boot it will load some modules into RAM and reboot, so the first boot will always be slower than every subsequent reboot. And the modules eat some RAM. Because of the 68030 it will ask you to install CPU support libraries. If your accelerator does not come with such libs, you can run the 3.2 installer again and install the generic libs from the CD. You won't lose the CD drive. Not sure about Akiko, but that's hardware, you cannot lose it in general. Support should be in all versions of graphics.library if it's correctly detected. |
