Great, that's what I've been hoping for for ages.

It would be even better if the host and emulated machine's setting were saved in different configs.

That way people could pass around the config for compatible A500,A1200,CD32 settings etc but only have to configure the host settings once.

Edit: Dopey me, I assume that's what the "Complete Configuration" is all about.

Oops. Andreas is correct, hard reset is ALT + CTRL + AMIGA + AMIGA (or HOME + INSERT) and not SHIFT..

Tourniquet: correct...

Big-Byte: yes, there will be problems if program wants to write to non-write protected disk but another program keeps the image open. Results may be quite confusing..

Great change, was just about to ask for all those goodies!

Hey if you don't mind me askin what happened to the description column? could you not implement a Tree-List-View control instead of a plain TreeView? (only asking)...

Either way great effort! Or should I say extraordinary .

Deuteros: Common controls do not support any kind of Tree-List-View directly, and if I am not completely wrong, only way to do TLV is to create Tree-View with custom draw and I am not sure if it is worth the trouble... (and GUI programming sucks )

With all respect, a TLV may not be a common control but it's common enough that M$ use it regularly in it's products, even though they have not officially released it as such - but there is plenty of example code showing it's custom-draw functions.

And that was a weird statement "GUI programming sucks" we all know that but isn't that what your doing with WinUAE , 50% of all windoz programming is GUI related.

Anyway with all that said - the new GUI for UAE is still great and using folders to organize the config files is just a bonus as far as I’m concerned. (Toni, I applaud the new look and usability, I know time is the biggest factor in all coding, so don't think I/we don't appreciate the time you are putting in).

c'ya.

Without using MFC or something similar? Links? WinUAE's GUI uses standard SDK common controls.

Maybe in "regular" Windows programs but not in WinUAE. Most changes are in emulation code, only about 5-10% are GUI changes. (except in next release, of course..)

My guess is that it will become available shortly after Toni's little band of beta testers stops pestering him over all the little things they'd suggest be fixed/changed. Honestly! Some of those guys will just about talk his head off if they get a chance! (Trying to look innocent here)
