Monitor or TV?
I'm wondering how many people here are running there Real Amigas with a Monitor. I've given three choices since I think some PC monitors are miggy compatible. If you've got more than one Amiga and maybe more than one monitor pick the one you most frequently use. I'm using a 14" Sony Trinitron TV. Its probably all I can fit in my room anyway

I have a Mitsubishi Diamond+71 connected to my A1200, with both the Picasso96 gfx card and AGA outputs selectable with a switcher. The AGA signal is put through a scandoubler to make it viewable, as the monitor will not sync down enough ordinarily.

I have a Microvitec 1438. It's kept working all these years so I haven't worried about anything else.
So, does this count as a PC or Amiga monitor? ![]() Also, just incase something happens to it, is there any recent monitors that people can confirm work with Amiga PAL/NTSC modes? |

I feared this might happen. I don't actually know much about monitors so its up to you to decide what category ure in.

I think if you want a true indication of what people are using there should be another option: Multiscan (PC+Amiga without scandoubler)
I imagine there are other people who still use Amiga hardware that would have one of these?? |

So far, i've had to use my trusty C= 1084S-P with some tweaks done by me (like soldered an extra SCART connector to it)
I wish i could find a multisync or a external scandoubler+flickerfixer for my A500's and A600.. |

@NytroX86
Currently, I am using Amigas with the following monitors: (a) A4000T with 21" ViewSonic 21PS, gfx card & external flickerfixer (b) A500 with 17" Idek Ilyama and internal flickerfixer (c) A2000 with 14" Philips CM8833-II (d) A1000 with 14" C= 1084 (e) CDTV with 14" C= 1081 and scart cable (f) A1200 with 14" NEC I multisync (g) A500 with 21" Sony Trinitron PVM-2010OM video monitor In the past I've also used Amigas with 14" NEC 3D multisync and the 14" Microvitec 1438 multisync monitors. Obviously, I would recommend the 21" ViewSonic if you have a flickerfixer or scandoubler. However, I'm guessing you don't have either, so I would recommend any of the bigger Sony Trinitron video monitors, especially if you mainly want to play games as the display is outstanding on them. The next best options are probably the 17" Microvitec GPM1701 multisync (aka Amiga M1764), or the 14" Philips CM8833-II or Microvitec 1438 (their displays really crap all over the C= monitors). I wouldn't bother with the C= monitors or a TV unless you can connect your Amiga to them via a scart cable. The NEC multisync monitors were always popular with Amiga owners, but I always found the unavoidable presence of black borders around the Amiga screen to be ugly and off-putting. You may find more info. on Amiga monitors in The Big Old Monitor List, which is available on Aminet: http://ftp.uni-paderborn.de/aminetbi...d+monitor+list Hope you find something in that lot helpful............ |
