I got the Jaguar for £32, to be honest I don't know if that was a bargain.

Not a bargain, but a fair price anyway

Yep, Alien vs. Predator is a MUST have, but I also would suggest TEMPEST, my all-time-fav on Jaguar

I've played the PC version of Tempest 2000. I wonder if the original Jaguar game is the best version to play?

The PC version is SHITE.

Jaguar is best, followed by the Saturn version.

Why exactly is the PC version shite? Anyhow, I really want to play the other two versions. I even have a Saturn, so maybe I should find that game for myself (maybe I'll buy it, or maybe I'll download the whole game off an FTP and burn it to CD :haha).

Anyway, I have Tempest X for the PSX, which looks even more tripped up on acid AND has 2000 as a hidden game. THIS GAME RULES.

Do get the Saturn version, should be easy to score it as a local euro copy. If you want to download it, you pirate twat, do it, and screw up your Saturn while doing the swap trick

The PC version just doesnt have teh flair of the Jag/Sat versions. The MIDI soundtrack, for one reason, fucs it up completely. Believe me, get the Sat version.

The PSX port is not half bad but no bananas

Birdy ol chap. What about you try the Jag version of Doom? I haveplayed it, and no doubt it was better than Pc, PSX or Amiga version. Never tried the Mac version, but I do know I liked the Jag version the best!!
If you are into racing, avoid Club Drive at all costs!!! Absolute horrible stuff Checkered Flag is somewhat ok...

Cheers Fred, I've never even used one of these before, so it's good to know there are some good games for it.

I looked for games for sale, but they were only in bundles with the console - I should have looked a bit more before buying I think.

I thought it actually came with a cd, Akira, that's why I went for it!

Well, biry, the CD was not much, I remember a handful were produced. And one magazine here, EGM, called it a "toilet seat lid"
Oh, and I remember when out mutual freind bragged to me , and does to this day, that Aliens Vs Predator was incredible. It is, as far as I am concerned.!

Crapper

That cd and the jag got dubbed the crapper here i think. Not a name you'd want your product to be nicknamed methinks.

It's a shame atari didn't get their act together with the jaguar, it could have been big. I remember reading about atari demonstrating the crapper at some show, apparently it exploded during the demonstration. Hehe, Atari just know how to show of their products!

..I did not know about the explosion. Though the specs were good, I am not to knowledgeable technically. But when I saw the preview of the sstem in some magazine, and saw the controler, and the logo with that tacky, very 80's sloppy claw mark, I knew the system was dead in the water.

Exploding or not, loking like a crapper or not (may I remind you, I call the old iBooks toilette lids ), the C daddon is worth the dosh for Jeff Minter's Virtual Light Machine. Pop in a CD and play away with a wonderful 'visualization plugin' of old , and way better than all that Winamp shite.

The old iBooks were strange looking, but still work better and are faster than vast majority of PC Notebooks.
Oh, and the new ones, the one I have?? Incredibly sleek, well made and beautiful. A work of art.

A piece of art, indeed. I like it more than the Powerbook G4 for some reason.

I never had the toilet lid, my mom does, Akira.. I have the newer one. My mom's BF has the G4 and the G3, and the G4 is better, for OS X optimization. Of course, you could not care less for OS X, the best OS ever. But, the G3 is perfect for OS 9+.
