How do I transfer ADF files to floppy disk for use on a real Amiga?
Hi,
Just bought an Amiga 600, great deal only £25 and came with 30 boxed games and loads of other bits!! Anyway, is is posible to write to a floppy the contents of a ADF file on my PC and use the said disk on my Amiga or do I have to transfer the ADF to the Amiga first and write it to disk from there? TIA for any help u can provide. |

You need a workbench set of disks (If you can try to get 1.3 version) and go to http://homepage.uibk.ac.at/homepage/c725/c72578/amiga/
Here you'll find all you need for transfering amiga disks via a serial cable. |

Hi Bad Mr Frosty,
You could: 1. transfer the ADF-file from the PC to your Amiga 2. write back this ADF-file on your Amiga to a disk In the link below i tried to explain above proces. WinFellow Website - Documentation Another option maybe would be using Disk2FDI. I have no experience with to program and i don't know if using it is safe. You need two diskdrives in your PC system. The program can be downloaded from the official website at below link. Official Disk2FDI Project Page |

Thanks for all the help guys, I have discovered that the version of workbench I have (2.05) will not allow you to mount PC0: thus I am unable to read a disk formated on my PC. Looks like my only option is to find a null modem cable.

Hint: You need 'type' command of workbench 1.3 or a serial transfer program on your Amiga. Without those progs you'll not be able to transfer a thing to your Miggy. If you have problems I can help you with a rexx script I wrote for transfering 'type' to my A600.

901 kb files
I noticed that the adf files are actually 901kb. Will they fit the 720kb floppy disk?

1. 901120 bytes = 880kb, they'll fit on a standard DSDD 3.5" floppy
2. You must be confusing the Kickstart with Workbench Workbench 1.3 comes on 2 disks, 3.0/3.1 5 disks or 6 if install disk is included. |
