Merry Xmas (Simple puzzle platformer)
I spent nearly all of Christmas eve on Twitch making a last minute game for Christmas day. It's heavily inspired by Sink Or Swim in that it's a kind of a platformery mashup of Lemmings and Sokoban. It's a very small and "indie" game but I do hope you enjoy nonetheless. 12 levels, and I'm curious if anyone who didn't watch the stream will be able to make it to the end. ADF download for Amiga is on the itch page. Though the Amiga build is the primary one, there's also a build for Mega Drive, and the Mega Drive build can be played on the page without a download. https://earok.itch.io/merry-xmas |

Im a little confused on this level?
If I dash and drop Present 1 it will stop at the green box.... If I rearrange the 4 boxes near you at the start and push them over to the right making a bridge, Then Present 1 always drops to the ground near the tree? There may be an issue with Present 1 dropping past the green box area? I'm not sure if there's a problem with the game or I just dont underastand how to solve the puzzle of getting 4 presents to the 4 trees below I can get 3 presents done. or have two block stacked on each other below, but there's no way of moving a double stacked present, even whilst on top of the reindeer? Also if you jump on the reindeer to the left you can leave the playfield and die |

Spoilers below: Crates only get stuck when there's walls (or other crates) on either side. So the order in which you drop crates does matter. If you have a "bridge" of five crates laid across that gap, numbered 1-2-3-4-5, I typically drop them in this order: - Drop the middle crate (3) first, that means there's a tight gap that will catch crate 2 and 4 on either side of it. - Drop crate 5 then hop to 4. - Drop crate 4 and then immediately (as you're bouncing after dropping crate 4) hop across the gap to 2 - Drop crate 2 - Drop crate 1 I hope that's enough for you to be able to work it out from there! |

Yes - presents get stuck in tight gaps, it'll get stuck if there's a solid block (either a wall or a present) on both sides. In which case it'll need Santa to stomp it down the level. |

Thanks everyone
@ransom I watched the longplay! Well done. You thought of some solutions to levels that I hadn't anticipated, also you've given me some ideas for additional levels. At some point I'll dust it off and do another update, though that might not be until December 2024. |

@ransom I always love seeing Scorpion stuff running on real hardware, thanks for playing
@stx2199 Thank you for the kind words! I'm intending to add another set of levels for Christmas this year, I'll see if I can sort out some varied music for the game for the second major release |

you could add music mods related to christmas, or I think that also music mods similar to the game "one step beyond" would be ideal for this game |
