A500+ issue

I have an A500 which around a year ago stopped working. I was using it and all of a sudden black screen. So I bought another A500+ motherboard, moved all chips from one to the other and confirmed all the chips worked fine.

While doing this swap I noticed the capacitor next to Gary had a pulled leg. I therefore packed everything and did nothing about it. One year later I bought a new capacitor, replaced this, swapped all the chips back and switched the A500+ on.

The A500+ booted up but the graphics were all distorted (screenshots attached). When I switched it off and on it did not want to boot again - black screen as before.

Does anyone know what might be wrong? Could it be a capacitor issue? Was under the impression A500s did not suffer from Capacitor issues, have a couple of A500s older than this one which work like a charm. However I honestly do not know what might be wrong.

Some background re this A500, the battery was removed, there was some green corrosion on the chips but there was never a lot of damage, motherboard look green, just legs were a little dull. Also it worked for years after removed battery.

My A500+ was in a similar state a couple of months ago.Green screen and would go black when the floppy was activated. It had had the battery removed and jp1? soldered for a trapdoor rtc. I put it away too. Later pulled it out and bought a proper barrel battery. Reversed the rtc change and cleaned the mobo and sockets+ drive. Works ok now as far as I've tried.
