So where in the world are all the GVP A530 turbo's lurking??
Anyone know of any knocking about currently? Just interested to see how much they're going for nowadays...

They are so overrated. Sell in excess of £200!!
A maximum of 8Mbytes fast RAM for an 030 accelerator!?? Damn big! A500 is big enough and add this and talk about eating desk space. Gimme a DCE Viper 530 any day |

I agree with Alex in that thet are waaaay over rated but man they seem to be the holy grail for A500 owners world wide...last one I saw locally in my parts sold for $250 CDN but on Ebay...man those prices are outrageous
I'd just buy a fully loaded 1200 with 030/040 and keep the rest of the money in the bank |

Amiga will never die!

They LOOk awesome though, all flush with the sexy A500 case. I'd get one if I could afford it, although of course an internal accelerator would be better, but with enough room those A530s go hard and look nice.

There is a place for external turbo boards for the A500 too.
Even though A500 is very big, inside it can get really cramped up quick with internal turbo board, CPU-bremse, Kickstart-switch, scandoubler etc. Having HD and turbo externally is nice solution. But A500 is quite big I agree, check out this funny joke I made last year: Amiga 500 the widest computer ever Also a 030 gets quite hot even in the A500. I used to have an internal turbo for my A500 which was a 030-25 MHz, it was smoking hot. |

I know somebody who has (2)Two of these units, I don't know if they want to sell them or not and what the configs are, but I will check and see if they are for sale or not, but of course it would be for the folks in the US and/or Canada.

They would be cool to have, but no way would I buy one for that kind of money.
I like my A500 as is (512K trapdoor and a 1011 external drive). Spend the money on a 1200 or 3000 if you must. |

Well, I got perfectly working unit with replaced quality fan and few extra harddrives (Seagate Medallist 4.5GB). CPU and FPU both are changed to 50MHz versions. No Yellowish colors And of all; fully loaded 8MB memory.
I`ve got several A500`s so its a perfect match for them. But, money can make things happen , it isnt the life`s center; if anyone wants to buy it just make an offer! Last edited by Ray; 03 July 2008 at 05:45. |
