This is my current setup @ 1152x864x16-bit, I would go 24 bit, but fine-tuning the settings in p96mode for my LCD monitor (Which does NOT convert interlaced modes) has proven to be a pain. Anyway, I couldn't decide wether to get rid of my Star Trek theme entirely for my favorite game, Frontier Elite II, or run with trekbench. So I did both. :-D
The background nebula I got from NASA I believe, the LCARS overlay was the result of a google image search, as is the Imperial Trader for the ship. The icons are all power-icons (Including the UFP logo), usually ripped from KDE destop icons. I HATE digging through directory structures, so I have dock menus all over the place. Of course, I have Limpidclock, and went for a gnome look via visualprefs. The MCP-modified WB title needs a bit of work, though. This is the setup I had in 1997 that got the whole trekbench thing started for me. That was @ 640x480x4bit, regular Amiga icons (no new/glowicons), and really low sys specs. (AGA only, still had a 060, but only 8 MB RAM) But it was the perfect beast to fire up after watching a Star Trek TNG episode. :-D Last edited by watertonian; 01 January 2010 at 21:49. |

A500+
This is my A500+ (2mb Chip, 8mb fast,1 gb CF as HD and 68010). I´ve just put the harddisk (CF) into WinUAE to make a "quick" screenshot. One difference to the real machine: After the workbench has been started there are only about 1.740.000 free chipmem, in winUAE it is more (as seen in the screenshot)...I don´t know why.

That looks like an extremely efficient A600 setup, Steve!
I particularly like the way the RAM is distributed. |

Thank goodness for the Pretec 2MB PCMCIA SRAM - gives the A600 the little boost it needs!!
I bought the other two 2MB cards the guy had on ebay btw - cost me £27.50 each mind you - I think I might sell one... |

Nice use of chipmem. But one question: Why do you run your WB as a window? Ist costs "space" on the screen but are there any advantages?
