Arrow REQ: Demolition (Kingsoft) [working]

...and another game that seems to be dumped from an original without respect to copy-protection.

TOSEC holds Demolition, but it doesn't even work on either A1000 or A500. The disk was tested by me for viruses or track errors, too => nothing.
After the 'Maniac' title tune is audible, it loads a decent while, at track #77, you get a black screen and nothing happens anymore.

Buuut...someone magically "transfected" a box scan of that ultra-rare game into the HOL cells
Could this 'someone' contact me privately or here in this thread?

I see a real chance in getting a correct dump with Toni's rawread tool, because this game is AmigaDOS, but apparently with a copy protection track. Maybe it needs an extended ADF to work.

I really don't see the point why you still bother with extended ADFs ? If someone owns the original game, he/she should dump it for CAPS...

Demolition

I have the original and provided the images for HOL.

I will provide a CAPS image in time as well as the WHDLoad version of this very, very poor game!

All right boys, extended ADF of Demolition in the zone!

Copy protection bastard sat on Track 80 (non-standard track), that's why the images from TOSEC can all be considered [b]! That's also why the screen had always turned black when accessing Track 77 with the music playing forever.

=> Any volunteers to remove the password request? <=

(The password is ABUSS.)

[edit] Uploaded another version with zeroed highscores.

@WindowsKiller, especially you might be interested why I was insisting on that so much: this will be the only way to play this game on Linux! As you know, CAPS support is *not* available for UNIX/Linux yet, and therefore we would lock out this growing group of users! (growing again due to evilrich)

And now, finally, we can have proper screens in the HOL for this game!

Because if it has copy protection, you won't be able to play it.

Yes, if you know the password.
I suggest to just write the password info into the TOSEC name. (maybe [password xxxxx] in square brackets).

I've said "extended ADFs", not "cracks".

I was refering to with CAPS they don't use cracked versions, so if someone dumps the game only to CAPS and not ADF then people can't play it because of the copy protection still being in place.

I think we're talking about two different things.

What I mean is: If someone owns an original copy of a game, he/she should dump it for CAPS. Leave standard ADFs out, because they are useless for copy protected games.

Why create an extended ADF ? You can't write it back to disk, you can use it with an emulator only and the copy protection is still in place, too.

Dumping it for CAPS makes more sense, because the game is preserved, fully playable with WinUAE and it can be written back to disk (not yet, but in the future).

Ah, I see what you mean. As the game isn't cracked it would act the same way in ADF or CAPS. Yeah sorry, I didn't read everything well enough.

... if the password is given with the image or enclosed in the TOSEC name (*repeat, repeat* )

Remember that IPFs come "as-is", without any enclosed text documents.

@Andreas
My original Kingsoft release has the same password. Defeats the purpose if they used the same password for each original copy!
