new james pond underway
http://www.eurogamer.net/articles/20...arter-campaign
Or at least it is on kickstarter, which is of course no guarantee. Its a wait until September 20th to see what it exactly is going to be - I hope Robocod in Rayman: Origins style to be honest! |

I hope it will not be something like James Pond 3. I'm still confused by gameplay and look of main hero.

Now this is interesting. Who said Amiga platformers are mediocre? Here's a great example. Hope they get it right, will definitively support this.
Wasn't James Pond released on the Amiga first? I hate it when these "news" websites mention every system imaginable, even the iOS for God's sake, and forget about the Amiga. |

I think they take info from Internet, not from their memory. Look at CD32 on gamefaqs http://www.gamefaqs.com/cd32 One box scan, cheats and that's all.

Funnily enough, there's going to be a Robocod remake as well (yes, another one!).
From System 3 mind you, so it'll probably be teased relentlessly for the next three years or so before being cast aside. |

Annoys me as well. There was an article in the paper the other day about a Flashback remake, they mentioned the SNES & Megadrive, but no mention of the Amiga.

i think i would like to see what the game they are actually making looks like, instead of over four minutes of what it used to look like.

Don't give up on it before it starts, plenty of projects make it (with extras) due to there being a great many nostalgic people When it comes to investing in personal entertainment, people are not so tight on the wallet it seems.

Why not... but since there isn't any amiga version, I'm not interested...
Still, I don't understand why nobody try a kickstarter for a brand new boxed amiga game. I'm pretty sure it will work if you plan to raise something like 20 000€ That's only 1000*20€... or 500*40€... You can even do a CD32 version, a downloadable version, a special version for Winuae users or for android/iOS, etc... to enlarge the potencial audience. That's a big mystery, considering that producing such a game should be nowadays much more easier then back in the 90's... |

As no surprise to anyone who pay attention to the avatars, I'm a huge fan. While 100k isn't much in kickstarter-terms, it requires a commitment from all who loves JP and 2d platformers in general to reach that. But at least it is no Dizzy 325k .. that was a long stretch.
"The bottom line – as I said when PJ first contacted me – is that I wouldn’t be part of this campaign if I couldn’t have sufficient involvement to help ensure a quality result.”" - Chris Sorrell http://www.100percentindie.com/2013/...ell-interview/ That is enough for me. |

Well according to kickstarter this failed to get (anywhere near) enough cash so has now been cancelled.
Hey ho. |

Maybe they should actually learn their lesson and try their best to come up with a new, innovative, interesting game, instead of trying to cash-in on nostalgia and a sub-standard IP they own. I mean, this campaign, was nothing, just the owner of the Pond brand and a Project Manager. No demo, no actual game ideas, absolutely nothing solid.
They should have learned from the Mighty No. 9 campaign, perhaps. Now that's something worth of people's time and money! |
