Ultima IV on WinUAE

I have been trying the amiga version of ultima IV on WinUAE. I am using
Ultima IV - Quest of the Avatar (1988)(Origin).adf
from TOSEC as the program disk.

When I clicked Initiate new game, the game ask me to insert Play Disk, which I did not have.

There is an option to Create play disk in the menu, so what I did was the following: I created a custom disk in WinUAE (Creating a standard disk did not work) andd formated it using X-Copy pro (X-Copy Professional v3.3 (1990)(Cachet)(NTSC)[h SR].adf from TOSEC).

The blank disk was accepted. After a while, the game asks me to "Insert thy boot disk". This time, neither the program disk, play disk or a blank formated disk was accepted. Why? What did I do wrong?

I inspected the player disk using X-Copy Pro. A folder called ULTIMAPP had been created on it and several files was inside it, so creation of the play disk was successful.

My question is: How do I create a boot disk for Ultima IV?

Just tried it here with the 'Ultima IV - Quest of the Avatar (1988)(Origin)[save disk]' and starting the game and then selecting 'Journey Onward' asks for the 'Play Disk'. Inserting the 'save disk' (Play Disk) starts the game. I would just try it again and see if it works that way.

If you play with WinUAE, you can install the game on hardfile and play with no more problems.

How do I do that? Is there instructions somewhere?

if there is no installer, you have to copy file in a subdirectory called, such as, Ultima.
you must copy also startup-sequence (check that it contains only this content: stack 5000 and avatar) from floppy and copy on root of this "ultima" directory and if you want you can rename it in short file like "start" or "launcher".

you add an icon and in "default tool" you put "c:iconx"

"Create Standard Disk" ADF works, and it doesn't need to be formatted with X-Copy. My guess is that you click OK too soon after disk prompt, it needs few seconds to be recognized. Enabling floppy drive sounds in WinUAE helps.
