Exclamation Found & lost...Monaco GP.

My sincere thanks once again to Amigaboy for his help in tracking down this one.

As anyone who read this thread will know, I've been trying to remember an old F1 race car game I played way back '82/83.

http://eab.abime.net/showthread.php?...0&pagenumber=1

Well, I finally found what it was. Monaco GP by Sega, apparently in 1979. Very impressive for its time, that being the case. Sadly though,it doesn't look like it'll be on MAME anytime soon, a real shame.

Now does anyone else here remember this one?

What a nice game!

Anyway, you might want to try LeMans on the C64, it's *very* similar.

Agreed guys. The sound FX in particular were quite poor compared to what I remember,(though most of the sounds didn't actually work period).
Still, at least I've managed to see it again, thanks for everyone's help.
But I find it silly that it's been dropped from Mame support in the first place.

dropped from mame

that's because it's not really an emulation, since the original didn't have a CPU, just discrete circuitry in a very weird way!

I've read some info on the hardware somewhere a while ago, and that's why it's so hard to correctly emulate.

Was a bit the same case as with Pong...

but it was a cool game, one of the first colour race arcade games, and addictive too!
