OK, done.
Boing Bag #4 V0.8k has now been released and includes these. Thanks for the suggestions. Last edited by Minuous; 13 March 2011 at 09:14. |

Both BB1 and BB2 had contribution archives for most of the third party apps. I realize this may create some extra work for you guys so thanks very much for your consideration! |

It's not really large enough to require something like this.
What components would you suggest for this hypothetical "Contribution" archive? |

I agree with Minuous. BB4 isn't that large (at least for now) plus all the updates can be handled even without the installer.
Btw, is 0.8m coming out soon with the new Icon.library 46.4.195 (+1.png file) or do you wait for some more updates? Keep up the excellent job mate! |

No worries Gulliver my friend. I already update my own BoingBag 4 every once and a while.
Just asked for means of completeness |

As far as what stuff should be part of the essentials or a "Contribution" I'll leave that up to you and the other programmers. I suppose the BB1 & BB2 archives could be used as reference in this respect. P.S. I personally don't use the installer. I just look at the files and decide what parts of the archive I'm likely to use on my system. |

BoingBag 4 version 0.8m
======================= Icon library updated to 46.4.195 which now features better support for PNG icons. New components: -XAD client for 7-Zip archives that enables UnArc to extract 7-Zip archives. -XAD client for compressed executables like powerpacker, imploder, etc., and enables Unarc to decrunch them. -Xfdmaster library and decrunchers that support the xad_xfd client. -LZMA xfdmaster slave/pluggin for better xad_xfd client support. You can download it from: http://lilliput.amiga-projects.net/bbag4.htm and very soon also on: http://amigan.1emu.net/releases/ Last edited by gulliver; 17 May 2011 at 21:32. |

Nice to see more updates.
Be careful, XFD (XAD client) causes VirusChecker II to crash on my system. Been playing with AddMenu.rexx, it's scripted for OS4, but easily edited to work with OS3... Another candidate? (Sorry to bring this up so soon after an update..) |

I will test VirusChecker with it, and give AddMenu.rexx some attention. Thanks ----------------UPDATE--------------- VirusChecker works wonderfully here. It does not crash at all. Maybe it is something related to your specific setup. I took a peek at AddMenu.rexx, but it seems that T.H.E. is a better choice on all aspects. Last edited by gulliver; 30 March 2011 at 15:45. |

@PeterK
Thanks for all the excellent work you have done on icon.library! A very fine job of coding indeed! However, I wonder if supporting PNG, 32 Bit, PowerIcons, GlowIcons and the kitchen sink is more trouble than its worth. With that being said, I may have discovered a small bug in V46.4 related to the parsing of tooltypes. When I try to run Visage (which has quite a large number of tooltypes) I get an "Error parsing arguments - Object not found message". If I switch to an older version of icon.library it works just fine. I hope this info is helpful? |

Thought I had checked this thread, but missed this somehow..

Well it was the simplicity that I liked, Addmenu.rexx is just a single file with no extra requirements, but I am sure you are right that T.H.E. is more powerful. Vaguely remember trying it many years ago but for some reason I didn't stick with it... |
