Hooooo Music-X 2.0 (the rare'st thing ever it seems!)

EDIT: to cut a long story short anyone got the ADF's?
I tried one and it turned out to be music x v1.0 examples disk.
Another FTP site related to this forum wanted a password that I don't have (it was like the Zone off here but not the zone?)

OK So this seems to be really rare... Why? surely music x 1 was a big hit with micro illusions and music heads at the time.
Even the main man himself Talin doesn't mention music-x 2.0 on his blog so maybe he had nothing to do with it.
Google results are very small, like 2 or 3 links!
Who the heck are 'Software Business' I don't know but they did actually have a 'big box' for this.

I've PM'd a few people around but not sure if they're still active on here so thought I'd try here. I don't want to sound impatient though.

Would anyone mind reuploading those disks? Very tough to find! In fact this post is one of the handful of posts I've seen on Google even mentioning 2.0

Sorry to resurrect this thread - I've installed Music-X 2 using the DMS files. I used the install scripts for the main app and Notator. When I open Music X itself, i get a hard crash almost immediately.

Are there any known compatibility issues? I'm running OS3.2.1 on A1200 1d4 with TF1260 card (Rev 6 CPU)

Thanks in advance!

Well, i think that config might not be completely compatible with it, did you try to disable the accelerator cad via the boot menu?

Plus, os 3.2 too

I have the same problem - never was able to launch M-X under Picasso... After P96 is intstalled in the system, M-X starts with guru every time...
I started the thread on iComp.de forum but no success so far...

Which guru number? You can try to catch guru problem using Enforcer/Muforce. If You show/post code which cause guru, then maybe any solution can be available. From my memory Music-X 2.0 is totally system friendly program and has the biggest Amiga replay which used audio.device for playback.

Actually, I believe I responded before, but here we go again. The midi.device that comes with the program is broken, in particular its interrupt handler. The trouble is that the CIAs and the expansion port share the same hardware interrupt, so the interrupt dispatcher distinguishes between the two sources, or rather should, if it would be used. Thus, in short, get rid of the midi.device, try again. It's just borken.

Please see the video.
The problem starts when I install P96 (doesn't matter if it's Aminet version or newest from Icomp). After restart M-X stops working. I don't even touch any of the ScreenMode settings, Workbench is still in PAL, but installation of P96 in the system just kills M-X.

Look, what exactly do you not understand about what I have written above?

Just for you: This program is broken. Its interrupt handler is broken.

This is not a P96 bug.

The problem is, I don't have any midi.device. It has MIDI folder in DEVS: and in that folder there is "internal" device which, I presume, is installed with Music-X.

Even if something is broken that does not mean the only option is to not use it. It would probably be not difficult and only take half an hour to write a little external fix tool which intercepts the installation of the interrupt handler and wrap the interrupt routine with code which checks if the interrupt is really from the source it expects it to be.

Probably because CGfx does not use the interrupt of the graphics card sitting on the same CPU interrupt level of the serial interrupt.

The interrupt of the graphics card is good for synchronizing the graphics output with the video beam, e.g. to avoid tearing. WaitTOF() makes use of it, for example.
