Creative solutions Amiga 4000

I got hold of an Amiga 4000.

Problem was off cause the dammed battery.
Also caps in the audio section been leaking.
Took out battery cleaned everything and replaced all electrolytic caps.
Booted up but no Fast RAM.
The chip 74F245 is near the battery.
After reading online and John "Chucky" repair guide and even talked with him It came down to this chip.
In Norway and Sweden there is not anyone that could help me with this.
Alternative was to send it to England or something.
Expensive and time consuming.
I took out the chip and with the chip came pads from corrosion.
Good thing is that this chip is easy to get. I ordered a few and since I'm not expert in soldering I found this 20-Pin SOIC to DIP adapter.
I then had the pads to solder the chip and ran cables to the holes where the chip used to be.
Everything working great now. Not very elegant but I'm happy it worked out.

Not recommened but it a creative solution that work
It is 20 cables so no need to mount it as it is not going anywhere :P
Sitting there up in the air.

I can not stand noisy fans.
The fan in the A4000 PSU is way to loud for my taste.

I took out the fan and replaced it with Noctua NF-R8 Redux (17db).
Since the PSU must be taken apart to solder the fan to the board I bought this cable with 2-pin 3-pin connector. I cut the 2-pin connector and soldered the cables to the fan input of the PSU board. If I want to replace the fan in the future it will be easy.
