A null modem cable does not look any different to a serial cable - the difference is in the wiring, in a null modem cable a couple of wires are crossed (similar idea to a crossover network cable).

Older PCs have serial ports in two sizes, the 9 pin ports and the larger 25 pin connectors (like the one on the Amiga - the same size as the parallel port). The cable you have sounds like a standard serial cable for a modem that allows you to connect the modem to whatever serial port your PC has - it's not a null modem cable. Other modems came with an adapter that converted the larger serial port to the smaller one.

Yes, you can make it yourself but I'm not sure whether your diagram is correct.

Here are the instructions that are on Aminet: http://aminet.back2roots.org/pub/ami...erialCable.lha , but note that they are for a DB25-DB25 cable.

I have a PC2Amiga linkup cable and software. It connects the parallel port of PC and Amiga. Does anyone know what kind of cable is the one I am referring to and if anyone knows where I can find the diagram to make one myself?

Manicx - it uses a PC laplink cable, normally used for connecting laptops to PCs. If I remember rightly you can also use another custom made cable.

All the info (plus diagram) is in the actual PC2Am308.lha package from Aminet.
