Problems saving Pirates
I seem to enjoy giving myself pain. Perhaps I should play some games that don't require savediscs. This should stop me from tearing all of my hair out.
Pirates behaves very oddly when I try to use the savedisc - sometimes it lets me save once and reload, then refuses to read the disc altogether. But most of the time it just won't load the disc. Has anyone else had similar problems? I've tried it on UAE and Fellow, and I've used the Amiga Supergamez version and the one from Amiga Island (cracked by Quartex, although rather stupidly so - it removes the intro question, but neglects to actually get the bloody thing right). So it might just be a problem with cracked versions. Gaaah. I might just go and live under a flowerpot. This emulation thing is much too complicated. Ah well. Think I'll play some Supremacy. |

BTW, this is using the latest versions of UAE and Fellow, and the savedisc provided by Back To The Roots. A blank disc gives the same problem.

Okay, problem solved. It appears that saving in winUAE is fine, provided you don't make more than one save. Just overwrite this every time and everything is dandy. Aren't I clever.
