I don't believe one exists that allows you to connect a 1351 to a PS/2 connector.

Just to clarify;
http://www.cablesonline.com/mintodbps2to1.html So the Amiga mouse would plug into the PS/2 port using above adapter. I'm just wondering if it is compatible. |

That adapter is designed for mice that have a dual mode (PS/2 and RS232 Serial) interface. These mice would originally have come with an adapter like the one shown, which just connects certain pins from the serial port to the PS/2 socket. The mouse then changes mode depending on what voltages it sees on the pins. The Amiga mouse is compatible with a PC bus mouse, except for the connector (bus mouse has a 9 pin mini-DIN). Neither are compatible with PS/2 or RS232 serial. To use a bus mouse on a PC you need a special card that plugs into the ISA bus, unless you have a Commodore PC/II/III/Colt (which has an Amiga compatible D9 mouse port). The 1351 mouse was specifically designed for the C634/128. It has two modes, 'Proportional' mode which generates 64 different analog levels and needs software that understands this protocol, and joystick mode which emulates a standard switched (Atari) Joystick. To use an Amiga mouse or 1351 mouse on a PS/2 port you would need an 'intelligent' converter that reads the mouse and generates equivalent PS/2 mouse signals. AFAIK nobody has produced such a device. However if you have an Amiga (aka 1352) mouse and an ISA slot in your PC then you could install a bus mouse (aka 'inport') card, and make a custom adapter cable from 9 pin MiniDIN to D9 or wire a D9 socket directly onto the card. |
