Saving WHDLoad games on V4
Hello Amiga people,
I have been trying to get WHDLoad games to save in my V4, latest core, with Coffin R57, but I get no joy. I have tried several games (gobliins 2, Heart of China, Monkey Island, Conquests of Camelot) and the result is the same everytime I try to save my progress: Bad stack pointer on entering WHDLoad via 'resload_Examine'. Otherwise the games run great. Please, help! |

I'd start by making sure that filesystem is not corrupted by running pfsdoctor check and repair (if needed)

I already checked with pfs doctor and found no problems. I also performed a clean coffin install and checked again. I also reinstalled WHDLoad...same result. |

Then, you could also check if WHDSaves folder isn't pointing to a non-existing folder. You can check which folder is used from S:WHDLoad.prefs file

I am informed by the Apollo forum guys that this is a known issue without a fix as of yet. :S So I guess it's back to old-school HD installing for now for these games. Thanks for all your suggestions, mate! |

Or. If you have enough memory, copy the install in RAM: then run whdload from there, and copy back the savegame when quitting.
If that works you can script this. I would have suggested to use JST instead (you can try) but even if it works well, the save feature may be buggy. Well, worth a try. |
