WHDLoad splash screen issue

Has anybody else had issues with WHDLoad splash screen not showing up in some slaves ?

For example, JOTD's James Pond 3 AGA/CD32 slave here:
http://www.whdload.de/games/JamesPond3.html

WHDLoad splash screen never shows up for me, game starts immediately without it ever showing.
I have not disabled it in whdload.prefs or as tool type, so that's not the issue.

Just wondering if I'm the only one with this issue.

Did you check the icon for tooltypes?

Yes.
Only PRELOAD is set.

It's probably a Scalos issue, idk, it does show in 3.9 and 3.1.4.
Just curious why it only happens in some slaves, other slaves such as James Pond 1 and Crazy Cars 3 shows splash just fine (with Scalos + WB3.1).

Scalos, wont show with 18.6
Normal boot up with 18.5 with of the same game in hdf shows.

Yep, i had always tooltype issues with Scalos back then. It also doesn't work with TinyLauncher+tooltypes. Best to avoid it. ClassicWB Lite+Newicons is fine.

I have the same issue also with classicwb full on my A1200. I have noticed it before on other random slaves although I can’t think of them right now. Those James Pond ones certainly do it though.

I also have some slaves that don’t like me running them by clicking on the icon also. Street fighter 2 is the main one and I get a recoverable alert as soon as I click the icon followed by a guru. If I run it from igame then it starts and plays fine. I think this is a scalos issue also.

I never had any problems with tool types or games not working with Scalos.

The only problem I have is some select slaves don't show splash screen.

No issues with it via igame or tinylauncher it just when clicking the icon.

I only have preload and underneath a preload size=2618976. As soon as I closed the tooltype window the computer immediately crashed to a guru. My A1200 really doesn't like the icon on this game for some reason.

From the looks of it you might have an old version according to icons used.
Does the v1.4 preinstalled game on the ftp behave the same ?
(the one shown in my video).

I just redownloaded it and it’s exactly the same. Locks up and gurus clicking on the icon and the same when I close the tooltype window.

EDIT: I just tried in on WinUAE with an A4000 config classicwb setup and it also gives a recoverable alert when clicking on the icon but instead of resetting to guru it does finally run the game after left clicking the alert screen a few times.

How come the icon looks different oun yours?

I use PeterK's excellent icon.library (68020 version)

I've upped a "normal" exoticon to the zone you can try if you keep having problems.
Just replace the icon, default tool and tool types is set.

I only just noticed this edit you did so I tried the replacement icon file and it now loads perfectly on my A1200 so thanks!
