EAB Look
First I have to say I love this board. I am trying to look here everyday. And it is great to see there still are so much Amiga lovers out there.
I only thimk this board could need some more cosmetic changes to get a bit more Amiga feeling. Like the V signs in front of the threads : Why not turn them in nice Amiga style A's, or small versions of the amiga ball ! . Or a nice amiga pattern in the back. I could imagine making this a public project where every member here could provide some nice amiga style icons, smilies, etc. to get away from the standard look and make it even more the best amiga board on the net. So what do you all think about that ??!! Come up with some more ideas... !!! |

The idea is not bad, but I'll ask you to wait for the upcoming 3.x release first (in a few months max it be online), it will be based on a new vB engine and on a new graphic set, which we may improve after with Amiga scener gfx

The idea with changing the icons in front of posts is a good idea but I'm afraid that if it goes too amiga it'll just be a nice distraction from the content (posts) and will take longer to load.

Well, not if you make them the same size as they are now. In both dimension and filesize. As far as I know those are just a couple of small gifs in the image directory around 1kb in size that are just over the whole board..
I am moderating a board myself so I know it can't hurt loading times. But hey, let us just wait for what RCK already mentioned. And see what comes ! |

I was thinking more about the background pattern and other new graphics things.

Definitely agree though, the speed has always been a major plus here. |

Yeah never been a problem with speed. I was thinking more if there were anyone with a dial up.
And I didn't mind the snowman though it's great to have the ball and not a snowman up there. |

A bit like Emu-UK who allows you a choice of 3-4 different themes
