Side by Side Viewports? ( OCS )

I've never figured out how this might be done quickly but I'm working on something for which it would be really useful.

I guess if the hardware had included a single BPLBASE feature where you effectively switch multiple bitplane pointers in a single copper move, I wouldn't be asking............ but hey, what is, is.

My own situation would be dealt with by attaching all the sprites, as I only need a 64 pixel vertical status bar but I'd much rather be using them for something more useful if there is another way.

But there isn't, is there?
