ODF file formats are planned. This was really more of a bug fix / minor update release. So the best way for me to get it tested was to allow it to be included as a demo/ prerelease in Icaros.

Icaros Desktop

Icaros Desktop 2.2 Nuova release della piĆ¹ famosa Distro AROS by Paolone

Icaros Desktop 2.2: Download

Don't forget to donate or become our patron!

After so many months of development, Icaros Desktop 2.2 is now available for download. The new release expands the ability to run the distribution in hosted mode (introduced with last Xmas Preview), allowing Linux and Windows users to run their applications - with no limitations - from the AROS shell and graphic interface. The new "HostBridge" technology can also open files and even set Linux/Windows programs as default tools for AROS projects. But that's not the only news about Icaros 2.2. The most popular AROS distribution for PC has now a brand new look, with new decoration theme, new desktop and new Magellan toolbars; it also includes new programs (like Slarti and ZunePaint), and brings all included software to the latest release

Options in GRUB menus to disable certain components for debugging:

Disable ATA: "ATA=off"
ATA safe mode: "ATA=nodma,32bit"
Disable AHCI/SATA: remove ahci.device line with Ctrl-K.
Disable USB: remove pciusb.device and poseidon.library lines with Ctrl-K.
Disable native graphics: "nomonitors"

Disabling audio can't be done in GRUB, but disabling the startup sound in Icaros prefs should prevent it from starting (unless you plug USB device in or out, which may play a sound).

Ever single Laptop I have installed ICAROS on gives me the exact same problem. I cannot set the AMIBRIDGE resolution. After integrating AF, when given the option to match screenmodes, the screen just goes grey and sits there forever. I reboot and go to the AMIBRIDGE menu below, far left and select Screenmode. Shortly after, grey screen.

Is there A trick to this I'm missing do I just have 7 incompatible laptops?

EDIT:
I think I may have discovered the issue on this particular laptop after doing some extensive google searches and filling in the blanks AND RTFM'ing.
I loaded AMIBRIDGE presets and used Windowed - The Amiga workbench started up fine. I look at the screenmodes and I can match the resolution of Icaros but not the screen depth.

In workbench, I'm only presented with 32 bit screen depths, in Icaros Desktop Prefs screenmode, I'm only able to set Icaros to 16 or 24 bit.

So there is no way I can match these settings.

So there is no way I can run workbench in full screen.

I'm guessing.

@BSzili:

You can even read the same words "A new release of Icaros Desktop is now available to beta testers and project supporters on Patreon (a supporter is a patron who's pledging 15 dollars/month or more)" at http://vmwaros.blogspot.com.au/2018/...available.html if you don't believe Amigasystem.

AROS is FOSS, you can get it via the link I gave you. Icaros Desktop is an AROS distribution. Do the existence of commercial Linux distributions mean Linux is a scam, and somehow no longer free or open source? What about closed source 3rd party programs and binary blob drivers?

So each user is expected to compile it themselves!? No one is going to bother with that, it is not the 1990s anymore.

Suppressing the binary to gouge money from users is a user-hostile thing to do.

What does "suppressing the binary" means? You can get the nightly builds for every architecture from the AROS website. You don't have to pay a dime for it.
So you clam that because AROS is FOSS every derivative work must be FOSS as well, othewise it's a scam? Is MorphOS is a scam as well, since uses AROS components and yet they "gouge money"?
