WinUAE/FS-UAE or older laptop with Batocera

Hi all,

As a newb in an emulation scene, I'd like to ask for your personal experience.

Would you rather use WinUAE/FS-UAE on a Windows machine or would you rather use an older laptop (still functioning very well) with something like Batocera or similar?

Just out of your experience.

Thanks!

First, it is things of preference, some like to emulate on WinUAE, others FS-UAE, while others don't like to emulate at all.

I personally don't mind emulation and I try everything, but from my experience, emulation on older hardware with Batocera or RecalBox is not as fast what would you get from the same hardware with WinUAE. Also, with FS-UAE you trade simplicity for speed.

At the moment I prefer MiSTer FPGA for amiga emulation, but I still use FS-UAE with Launcbox on windows computer, RecalBox on RPi400 and even one old laptop with FS-UAE under Ubuntu.

Is M short for Miroslav?
