WHDLOAD crash
Have installed the latest WHDLOAd usr package on my A600 with 68030 CPU but as soon as start a WHD installed game my green power light starts to flash and I get a "software failure" error code.
This error even happens if I write "WHDLOAD" in shell. WHDLOAD only works after my first install without a reboot as soon as I've made a reboot and try to start the prog. it crashes. Have never got the program to function after a reboot, not on my A500 with 68030 cpu or my 68020 or 68060 CPU A1200 so I suspect it must be a setting or something which I have to change. Anyone have a clue what it is? |

More info required...
Do you have any weird programs like HackDisk running or internet stacks etc? Do you have reqtools.library in LIBS: and did you install WHDLoad via the script?
You could also try with an older version of WHDLoad and see if they worked and if so, find which was the first version that stopped working. You can download old versions from the old directory: http://www.whdload.de/whdload/ |

No hacks or stacks running (gee, it rhymes!).
Installed WHDLOAD with the script and I don't have the library you mention, is it needed to run WHDLOAD? When I first tried WHDLOAD about a year ago I had the same problem and that was with a different version. The error code I get is: 8000 000D Task 00573600 |

Hmmm, that's a RAM error isn't it?
Do you have a ram card expansion installed? I remember helping someone work a similar problem out on IRC and after a lot of fecking about it was his RAM card that simply wouldn't let whdload run without crashing. Try removing the ram card and have a look (if WB will run without it of course) |

It can't be my chip ram expansion since I have this prob on 4 different systems/OS.
Going to try a fresh OS3.9 install now on my A600 and reinstall WHDLOAD. If it doesn't work it must be an initial setting in WHDLOAD that you have to do for it to work. Have just installed the program without any changing anything, is there anything I should change for it to work on my Amiga 600 with an 68030 turbo card? |

Make sure that you dont have the MMU option enabled. Therefore check for a S:whdload.prefs and uncomment if necessary.
If you have an 68ec030 processor you cannot use MMU option. I have also seen corrupted MemoryLists which could cause WHDLoad to crash. This may caused by Accelerator boards which do not correctly add their memory to the system (have seen this on a GVP board). I think with kick3.1 this should not happen. |
