Name that vintage computer

I spotted this in the original 1978 Dawn of the Dead movie. It looks a lot like a Commodore VIC-20 to me, but the keyboard layout is a bit different and that wasn't released until 1981. Could this have been an early prototype? The Video Interface Chip was actually developed in 1977.

During the shopping spree scene in the JC Penney department store you can see display counters full of typewriters, which I thought was an interesting contrast.

If you do a google image search for IBM (they were ubiquitous at that time) Terminals
The 2nd + 5th images are 3277's

Brilliant, thanks very much. I'll give you a nod in my article when I point out what it is.

I never would have guessed. I did try searching for images to identify it visually, but my keywords - 1970s computers etc. - were getting me nowhere. My knowledge of this period and 'dumb terminals' is a bit of a black hole.

I had a look on eBay just out of curiosity and there weren't any there so I'm guessing this specific model at least is quite rare these days.
