Amiga 4000 flash green screen
Hi Everyone,
First i’m so happy to join abime community. I have Amiga 4000 and it’s in very nice shape motherboard The motherboard been full recapped + A3640 been also fully recapped Also the rtc clock been fixed and the battery change with coin and shown is detected during test So in simple everything works great I have issue and I don’t if it’s issue or normal When i switch on the amiga 4000 it flash green screen for less then second and it’s boot normally I tested everything and works fine but I don’t why it’s flash green screen then boot I try to replace the chipram with new one but this not fix issue My question: Is it normal or there is problem? If it’s problem , can someone guide me to solve it Thanks again |

Green Screens usually mean a Chip Ram Error, but in your case or anyone else's for that matter.....
If it ain't broke, don't fix it. |

Do you have any other expansions in the system? The Deneb and Algor cards, for example, will produce a green flash as part of their normal startup procedure.

I had a 3640 that died from what I think was capacitor damage and the symptom it produced was a green screen—the system couldn’t even boot. The actual chip RAM was fine, but the system was so confused by the damaged processor board that it produced inaccurate error messaging.
If you have a spare 3630 give it a try. If it works fine then that suggests the problem is with your 3640. If not, then it’s probably a motherboard issue. (Remember you might need to adjust some motherboard jumpers when switching to a 3630.) |
