I did some testing last night with Doc as I couldn't believe that no files at all were recognised

Basically he sent me about 6 .DMS files which I converted to .ADFs using dms2adf and then ran them through the latest TOSEC Dats via ClrMAMEPro. This worked fine and all 6 were recognised

I knew that Doc was using xDMS so I downloaded v1.2 (as it was easiest to find) and gave that a try... While converting all gave the following error and the output were various sizes, not 880kb:

Error in file xxxxxxxx.DMS : checksum error after unpacking !
This file seems ok, but the unpacking failed.
This can be caused by a bug in xDMS. Please contact the author

I then searched for another version of xDMS and found v1.3.3 on Paul's site (which was compiled by poohbear). Tried again and this worked without error

Compared the CRC32s from the .ADFs produced by dms2adf to the ones produced by xDMS v1.3.3 and they were exactly the same

Doc was using xDMS v1.2...

Anyway, Doc should be fine now to convert all .DMS using either dms2adf or xDMS v1.3.3 and then running the latest TOSEC Dats via ClrMAMEPro

Let's hope he finds some rarities

OK gotta make sure I have 1.3.3 but on http://zakalwe.fi/~shd/foss/xdms/ I can only find 1.3.2.. where did U find 1.3.3 pls??
