If everybody could keep track of their own total too (in seconds) that would also be helpful, cheers

I fear I have bad news:
The time calculation seems to be slightly affected by playing in Turbo mode. I played The Hump Back for 5 hours today, and scored 0:50:19 as best. Wondering where that extra 0.5 seconds could be that JPV and Mipe were better i finally decided to try out the turbo mode, and in 3 of 4 tries I scored better by 0.3-0.5 seconds! I switched again to normal, did 5 test plays and scored in my usual range, improving my previous best by 0.01 seconds. So I think we should not play this one in Turbo mode, as Turbo mode is also unsynchronized and might be affected by various machine speeds. |

I think we shouldn't play Turbo mode in this case. If anybody has been playing using this please tell us, we'll remove the scores so you can try again in normal mode. Thanks.

I've been playing it in turbo mode for years regularly and my record lap for Hump Back was 50.17 with that mode until yesterday. It's been hard work and luck to finally get it under 50 secs finally and it'll be difficult to get that time in whatever mode again. And I'm sure if xpect, john4p, Biscuit or off1k will provide lap times here, they will go easily under my scores in whatever mode too. I just can't understand how they took, not just few tenths, but more like seconds off last time from my times.
I would really like to hear more evidence of possible timing issues with turbo mode before banning it. Maybe somebody who has patched the game would have precise information how time calculation goes in this game? But I've thought time and movement are tied together in the game and both are equally faster if played with faster cpu. |

I don't think there is any difference with timing between normal and turbo modes. I just played little with non-turbo mode and this is what I got when comparing my earlier turbo times:
Track: Normal (Turbo) Hump Back: 49.84 (49.83) Big Ramp: 44.98 (45.12) High Jump: 47.84 (47.81) In fact it seems to be easier to get the results with that normal slow-motion mode, because you have much more time to react and see the breaking points etc. But I just hate that low fps slow-motion so I still prefer to play with turbo mode, looks much cooler |

I did some more test runs on the Hump Back this evening in non-turbo mode and must admit that I greatly improved my score by more than a half second. I used A500 CPU speed in the emu this time, because I slowed down my usual setting yesterday on the Turbo test to be able to react (dont know if that matters though, maybe I just was weary yesterday evening). So Turbo mode seems not to have an influence.
New Score: 4 - Hump Back: 49.63 s 3 - Big Ramp: 45.37 s 2 - High Jump: 48.13 s 1 - Draw Bridge: 75.57 s Total 218.70 s |

WinUAE settings for SCR Turbo:
Either use the WHDLoad version of SCR or Galahad's ADF Stunt Car Racer (1989)(MicroStyle)[f AGA Galahad][h][Stunt Car Racer Turbo].adf. Press F3 to activate Turbo-mode ingame. edit: F3 for the ADF, F7 for the WHDLoad version. Use a 68040 CPU without JIT-emulation (JIT-emulation does corrupt SCR's gfx). For "CPU emulation speed" select "Adjustable between CPU and chipset". Set the slider to the 2nd position from the left: With the slider at 2 the game is very smooth and very playable. Faster than normal, but still very good playability. With the slider at 0 or 1 the game is unplayably fast. With the slider at 3 or even further to the right the game becomes choppy like on an Amiga 500. Last edited by john4p; 28 August 2012 at 17:52. |

Quote:
The drawbridge is a pretty easy level - the only hard part is getting to the drawbridge when it's fairly low, and then landing without bouncing off the track or losing too much time time. |

So I take my fastest lap from the practice sessions of the listed tracks togethor with screen shots and post the total time?
For a given track it can be any lap of the three right? |
