The joys of 'Noobhood'

Here's another one for all you tech heads out there

Lemmings (1st game) just loads up to the point where the 'lemmings hand' mouse pointer comes up then loads no further...

3 different ADF's have I tried with no succcess.

The loading process stops and there is no movement again on the HD

Any ideas ?

Lemmings should work fine with those settings, in fact it doesn't even need Cycle Exact.

So is it possible then that I've just got hold of a few different Rubbish .ADF files?

Will try some more.

Like I say it brings up the lemmings hand pointer so seems all working, its just the items to click on seem to be absent

if I remember back to playing my original lemmings there are 2 or 3 options on that screen you can click on.

Will try a few other ADF's unless someone else recognises this as a fault issue

Tried all versions on Planet emu to no avail, still gets to same bit and is blank.

If anyone could recommend the name of a working version that would be excellent

till then I'll just remain Lemmingless

poor wee chap that I am

Hey nathan,

we can't have that now

Bit strange that you said you've tried all versions on Planetemu without success. I'm positive that
the version I use is from there. Also, the settings you've posted should work without issue...

Give me 10 minutes, I'll fire up my other laptop, check out what .ADF I'm using etc...

Hey nathan,

OK, I'm using the followig disks:

... Lemmings (1990)(Psygnosis)[cr SKR](Disk 1 of 2)[t +20 Slipstream].adf
... Lemmings (1990)(Psygnosis)[cr SKR](Disk 2 of 2).adf

For WinUAE use the following settings (nothing special):

CPU:
... 68000
... More compatible
... Match A500 speed

Chipset:
... OCS or ECS Angus or Full ECS (what I usually use)
... Cycle-exact CPU and Blitter

ROM:
... KickStart ROM v1.3 (A500,A1000,A2000) rev 34.5 (256k)

RAM:
... Chip 512K
... Slow 512K

The main menu screen should look like this:

Ok have got those ADF's and am using the config exactly as you sugest. but its still doing exactly what it did before.

It's almost like the background pic that you show isn't displaying.

It wont accept clicks anywhere on a blank screen also

This is sooooooo strange

Oh also it says expansion ram detected and utilised but I have no extension ram as far as I know?

Ok I just messed about with this somehow and got it working.

Think my answer was to put discs in drive 0 and drive 1

that seems to have done the trick

Weirdness

thanks for the help DamienD

No problem, glad that you finally got it working

I should have mentioned that Lemmings is a game that supports 2 x disk drives...

Bit strange though, I would imagine that it still should work if only 1 x disk drive is enabled

It does, unless you forget to change disks!

A standard A500 only has 512kb chipmem - you added 512kb slow memory.
