I still check in, from time to time... he he, some of my floppy discs are still physically out there somewhere as I recall! But yes, times change. And gaming these days seems to want you to grind your entire life away in some ghastly "free to play, it only costs your SOUL" set up; I wonder if the current generation will have the same kind of nostalgia we have for games when it's so much like a second job these days?

Still, I remember the Amiga, and these forums fondly. And that stinking illiterate peasant, the one who served us well? Do you remember him too? :P

Dear fellow nerdlings at EAB, it has been two years, two magical years of adventure and self-discovery.

Besides some abnormally large man boobs, a few ugly scars, and a permanent bronze tinge to my complexion, I am no longer Shirley. I am what the Universe has called me to be: a blank white man canvas for the world to paint its rainbow of colors upon.

And would you believe I owe so much of it to Fred?

It seems that when the Universe has squeezed the last drop of life from the shaft of my soul, Fred is there to catch me. In 2014 I was approaching my first mid-life crisis. Fred had avoided his mid-life crisis on account of his permanent gayness, so he taught me how to relax and just ease into it. He cradled me through a few drunken sob sessions, which was above his call of duty, and then he did the most unexpected thing.

Knowing I was down on my luck, Fred quit his job at the Puerto Rican night club and cashed out his 401k. You should have seen us both literally skipping from his bank like Laverne and Shirley. First we got matching haircuts. We bought some darts and a world map to throw them at. We also bought a lot of booze.

The liquor makes it hard to piece those weeks together, but I recall we did a complete drunken playthrough of Brataccas which for some reason was one of the funniest things I have ever done. We got a standing ovation for our karoke duet at a gay bar and Fred claims I even ordered a girl a drink. We also did pranks like putting some of my shrinkwrapped Amiga games in the PC section at the local Wal-Mart (four out of five were still there a week later!).

We hopped on planes to chase down leads to Twistin’ Ghost but struck a dead end in South America. Long story short, for two years Twistin’ had been trying to get people in 193 U.N. recognized countries to scratch and sniff the Leather Goddesses of Phobos scratch and sniff card at the same moment. Why, I don’t know, but I saw dozens of original boxed copies in a garage in Guatemala along with about 100 of the cards in a bag. I took one as a souvenir but Twistin’s trail went cold from there.

Then there was the bicycle tour of the Netherlands. Fred’s Little Lord Fauntleroy outfit was a big hit in Holland and it got us into some nightclubs we would not otherwise have gotten into.

I can’t tell you all the other stories, but I can tell you that Fred is one hell of a guy, and one hell of flaming faggot.

And really, in this crazy world of ours, what else do you need to know to sleep well at night?

I was looking at some of my first threads here at EAB, 14 years ago.. shit..

Those were some good times. There were some real nice people around that haven't been online for ages here. It's a shame, but I guess it's the way things are. I was away of the board for nearly 7 years myself (lurking around from time to time).

It's good to know EAB is still here after all those years

Hey guys. I'm not really qualified to be an old timer ( think I joined originally 2004 or 2005 ). I find it difficult to keep track of forums, though tapatalk has made that easier. Just bought a hxc floppy emulator for my Amiga, off to go fit it :-)

Does anybody know what happened to TCD/TheCyberDruid ?
It's been a year now since his last login.

Maybe he lost interest or married life simply got in the way.

I am also missing Hipoonios, no clue what happened. And Graham Humphrey, in his case it seems he just lost interest.

Graham at least is still active and is the main organiser of the Norwich Amiga User group, which has very regular meetings in a retro gaming cafe in Norfolk. I guess he's just lost interest in the Amiga forums, not the Amiga itself.

He's still online on Steam and I see his nick in the IRC bar from time to time. I just think he got tired of EAB around 2016 or so. Possibly being a mod helped with that.
