AMiGA: Applications Vs Games

I have always asked if on AMiGA there have been more games or more programs. Do any of you know if there a census somewhere to determine how many games and how many programs they were created on AMiGA; naturalmete should not counting the various versions.

That all depend on if you mean commercial applications, or if you are including public domain/shareware/etc. Also, whether or not you are including the modern flavours of the OS such as AROS, MorphOS, Amiga OS 4, etc.

Assuming you're limiting the list to commercial application vs commercial games for the classic Amiga, then I'd say there are probably a fair few more games.

But if you're also including freeware/shareware, then a quick glance at the number of packages available in Aminet's various directories would suggest that there are FAR more applications than games. Especially if you're including software for the more modern Amiga based OS's.

It I would include even the less known programs used to start the intro or game presentations.

Like commercial products, very are more games than applications.
