@jPV

I noticed that also on OS4 there is a problem with tar.bz2 archives that generate the "unnamed.dat" archive.

In practice it is only an error in the name if you rename "unnamed.dat" to "unnamed.tar" the tar file unzips regularly.

You probably mean xad.hwp... .hwp is Hollywood plugin and .hwd is Hollywood designer project file.

But anyway... xad.hwp is linked into the RNOArchive executable, so it isn't requred or used from any other location. Installation of it doesn't affect in this case.

Are you sure your XAD installation is complete? Do you have xadmaster.library in libs:? Does XAD work with other programs? For example, can you unpack archives with "xadunfile archive.lha ram:" from the shell?

Hi again, the problem was in XAD library for 060 I downloaded from Aminet. Maybe its not compatibile with V1200 080? Any way I tried version for 020 and works..Thanks!

Hi there. In general for the V1200 board and all vampires, the binaries that someone should choose for best compatibility with the 080, are the 040 libraries. Apollo have instructed me so and I never had an issue. The 020 libraries also work as well but the 060 ones are missing some instructions that can cause problems.

Good that you got it resolved, and good to know about this incompatibility, thanks.

RNOArchive 1.1:
- Fixed an issue with directory extraction, which could lead to extraction of unselected files
- The progress bar is updated when unarchiving single dirs or full archives
- Added a work-around for adding whole directories without selecting anything
- Fixed an ARexx port issue
- Other minor fixes
- Removed the separate OS 3.2 executable, works with a single executable now

I like it but it has two disadvantages:
1. It takes a bit time to init (because it is coded in Hollywood)
2. It uses XAD systems that is not updated and for example LHA decompression is 2-3 slower than LHA from Aminet.

Yeah, that's a downside on real 68k machines, but should be quite snappy on FPGA/emulation/NG setups.

This program is more like convenience tool for browsing archives, viewing and extracting selected files, and of course creating whole new archives without needing to remember all the options. And the best thing with XAD is that it supports huge amount of different formats.

Unpacking a single whole archive might be quicker from commandline or filemanager, but for batch extracting lots of archives this program becomes handy again, especially if you want them being sorted in own dirs

I guess I could do custom support for LhA to use a separate command, but don't know if it's worth the hassle... there are also too many different versions of LhA (Amiga vs. Unix branches, and different versions of each branch), so XAD is more foolproof generally.
