warm MegaDrive II

Could someone tell me is this normal that my MegaDrive II is warm near power cable after 0.5h of playing? My better power adapter have 15V (plug is more "compatible") and second one have 11V but plug is too loose sometimes.

If I understand correctly, you are using in one instance a 15V supply and in the second, an 11V suppy?

Running extra voltage into a unit, especially if it doesn't have its own regulator inbuilt is asking for trouble.

The power supply units for both my Megadrive and MegaCD have an output of 10V 1.2A.
You have one supplying too much voltage and i would not be surprised if yours are supplying more than 1.2A!

The megadrive II console uses 10V and 0.85A.

No need to worry about that of course though. As long as it supplys enough the MD will only draw as much current as it needs.

1.2A is not a problem as mushashi5150 said, but you NEED to supply it with 10V , not 11 or 15.

Now I can buy original Sega power adapter for MegaDrive but it's 9V, not 10V. I have (not original) 9V power adapter and something is really wrong with colors with that voltage ("Amiga rainbow copper" where black background should be).

Power supplies... I'd recommend getting a regulated power supply, e.g. a recent model, not very old. Older ones have coils and deliver too much current without a sufficient load.
You could try to get a good (recent) switching supply with 9V which could do the trick as they usually supply just a bit more.

I have two new regulated power adapters, but one have different plugs which I can not connect to MegaDrive and second have 15V and above. I bought yesterday original Sega power adapter with power plug adapter and my console is not warm anymore.
