Anatomy of an RGB passthrough
How in principle have Picasso and Cybervision implemented the RGB passthrough in their RTG cards?
Would a card independent passthrough with SD/FF be possible for those RTG cards that do not have it by default? I'm pleased with my Retina BLT Z3 but it's slightly annoying having to switch monitor modes every time you use a program that supports only the RGB modes. |

It is an internal monitor switcher.
Some cards (Picasso II, CV64, Merlin) have an input connector, you connect a short cable from your SD/FF to it. Some cards (PIV, CV3D) take the Amiga's video signal from the video slot and you just connect your monitor to the RTG board's VGA port. The CV3D is misunderstood by many. If you have the scandoubler module, you must connect the monitor to the scandoubler connector. Autoswitch will work from that port only. |
