Anyone got Plipbox AVR-NET-IO Board?
Edit: resolved
I purchased AVR-NET-IO to use with the Plipbox firmware so as to connect my A500+ to the interwebs, but have 2 questions that the dev isn't replying to. Here's the dev's board and introduction: http://lallafa.de/blog/2012/09/plibo...-net-io-board/; http://lallafa.de/blog/amiga-project...pbox-hardware/ ("3") Now for my question first see here, points 2.1 & 2.2: https://github.com/cnvogelg/plipbox/...rc/hardware.md 1. Can anyone demonstrate via a photo or simple sketch where on the AVR-NET-IO to connect the Strobe wire? 2. And do I have to use the 5V power? Surely the parallel port provides power. I haven't been able to get hold of the dev on his blog or on Twitter for many days sadly. Last edited by Starglider 2; 03 April 2016 at 08:39. |

Here is a photo of my board. I really just need to know:
Which is pin 1 of "EXT", as per his instructions: Quote:
Do I need a power supply or will the Amiga provide the power? |

In the circumstances, I can't say I blame you for that.

I'd still love to see a photo of a correctly wired AVR-NET-IO by @lallafa just to see how he's done it all, like where the best place to connect to is, and as there are other mods to make also. |

Can you trace the pin one on the board to a via or pad?

Not visibly for some reason. I'm sure @lallafa is still active here... I think...

Both the EXT header and DB25 are through-hole components, yes? So I'd simply solder a wire between the relevant pins on the underside of the board. Just make sure you don't add loads of solder, avoiding bridging any pins and it should be fine.
According to the AVRNet IO schematics in this PDF: http://www.pollin.de/shop/downloads/D810058B.PDF (which also confirm which pin of the EXT header is pin 1), pin 1 on the DB25 isn't connected to anything else, so I don't think you'll find a suitable solder point anywhere other than the DB25's terminals. |

I'm pleased to say he uploaded a photo showing the Strobe wire connected. In his implementation he uses the alternate location on the ATMEGA32 chip instead of on the EXT pin.
