I think we have to wait for it to get released first my russian friend.
You also need an accelerator card for your A1200 with a PPC processor

yeah, i know it of course. i have bppc x 266mhz with voodoo3 on mediator. So, i hope, new os will be more stable with old 68k software, with guru-mediatation (hope gream-ripper will enought), with WarpOs (i know here is WarpOs handler already (and WarpUp if i remember correctly
from Crisot video)). And of course i think, PPC stuff will be work 2-3 faster , becouse here is no context switching for new os. Well. Time to test I hope we will have new os on cristmas

I thought this would of been finished by now. Has the A1 hardware changed for the better? All these extra G4s and soon G5s around now that Apple won't be needing them.

Good to see Hyperion+Eyetech still taking this project seriously while so far not re-committing the 'mistakes' of the past.
( Apart from trying to make money out of the Amiga platform )

'Best of luck to both...

Speaking for myself:
I would love to see a version of Os4 running on Mac hardware......

So far my exposure to AmigaOS is limited to the various emulators. At last I'm very tempted to invest in some hardware. ( Lots of software already bought ) But as a hobby user I'd be more interested in more powerful and up to date hardware that will easily run an Os other than AmigaOS. ( Never been able to get my head round Linux )

I know the reasons why not:
Piracy - the Various A1 boards make a good 'dongle'. Also how does Eyetech make money on Mac boxes?
How about a u-boot pci board or USB stick to go along with a Mac/generic PPC version of the OS?

Resources - Hyperion is a small company and can't support many hardware variants.
How about specified boxes + gfx + sound cards? - Largely the case now.

Money - Hyperion+Eyetech can only hope to turn a profit by selling to embedded markets, so their current OS/hardware are spot on. We should all be grateful that they are making any effort to produce a viable desktop variant.
Ah-well I can hope.

Sorry verbal diarrhoea again.

Hmmm...
talking to myself in public again....
must get out of the belief that I'm the only one who's heard of Amigas.

Oh damn! - it all makes sence now - the last 20ish years. My psychiatrist was right, the whole C= amiga fantasy really is too fantastic to be true. The perfect computer brought low by mismanagement so bad the owners couldn't sell water to a dying man in the desert. The hope of a dramatic and enlightened rebirth for the computer industry.
It's all just a deluded fantacy in reaction to the horrible truth:

Its always been and always will be Bill gates!!!

Yeah, sure it's Gates, it will be for a long time to come, speaking as computer professional who makes his living fixing other people's computer problems. I hope Bill Gates and his sorry excuse for an Operating System continues to florish, or people like myself will be out of a job.

My MicroA1 & OS4 is just a very nice bit of alternative computing which doesn't provide half the hassle that windows does.

Amiga - Do you remember when computing was fun?

My, aren't we pessimistic?

From what I hear, it WILL be out this year, probably early weeks of December and just in time for chrimbo.

For all you classic amiga owners with a PPC card, I will find out if/when the classic OS4 version is coming too.

Think it's a bit unfair that we classic owners don't know if we are going to have OS4 at the same time as the A1 owners since we have been the sorry ones which have been promised sometging for our PPC cards a long time now
