HAM without 24bit screen

Hello!

This isn't an app-specific problem but I want to be able to create a AA HAM+ image from a 24bit colour picture. (without a gfx card enabled amiga)

Deluxe Paint can happily open pictures with more than 256 colours, but it can't open anything other than iff. Which is a pain.

PPaint can happily open bmp/gif/png/jpg but can't open a 24bit image without recolouring to 256 colour.

Is there anyway of opening a 24bit bmp/png image in AA HAM+ and then saving it as a ham image?

Use ImageFX, ADPro or PPT.

This one makes DPaint load jpeg pictures: http://www.aminet.net/package.php?pa.../AutoPEG20.lha

And this one makes it load any kind of picture files: http://www.aminet.net/package.php?pa.../DTConvert.lha

However, the latter would probably convert the pictures to 256 colours first, if V43 datatypes are not installed.

You can also use ImageStudio, GFXlab24 or ArtPro a bit smaller than ADpro or ImageFX.

Imagimagick or netpbm package do that from cli.

With netpbm there is ppmtoilbm that does the job, with convert you should read the doc.

They can be found @ http://amiga.sourceforge.net/

They handle eons of formats.
