Something interesting for A1200

Something new that we have been getting excited about for the last few months.

I don't think this has been done for the Amiga 1200 before?

We need such a ROM replacement again! Independent from any other card.

I would take, a card over what you posted any day. Push in a card and your done. Plus its alot more than just simply flash roms.

I was hoping it was a Motorola DSP 56K card . So it's a ROM reader/writer??

What language do you use to code your OS tools? Glad to see other people using the Default 4 colour OS 2 look as well although I use Helvetica/11 as my screen font

Wow! In the shadows there is some great work being done. Is this your own project?

Also kudos for using a CRT! It appears there are scanlines visible on the 2nd pic

The problem is, it hooks into too much hardware. Average user doesn't want to to pull their machine apart to fit stuff over chips.
Besides, as you said its a ROM replacement. This card is not only just that.

Sure but useless for people with other CPU cards... unless we get 030, 040 and 060 cards with the same feature... so...

Yes, of course that would be the only reason. However general ram cards are used for whdload gaming.

It's an application for using custom Kickstarts in the 8 meg memory RAM expander from AmigaKit.

4 megs of Flash memory and no need to double-boot like BlizKick requires.

Reptile’s ROMFlash also allowed you to flash in replacement modules and libs, similar to this and Deneb.

@trixster

We understand that there have been past products that are now discontinued/unavailable. Deneb was a great product for Zorro III machines and we sold many hundreds of units a decade ago.

However we have invested in this project to bring a useful, high quality product at a low price to the community and ensure it will be readily available going forward for the long term.

We will continue to re-invest in developments of new Classic Amiga hardware and software. We understand the importance of keeping these products available at reasonable pricing for all to enjoy.

The Flash ROM is 4MB so is fully configurable with different ROMs, Kickstart Modules, Libraries and any software that the user wants to make resident. It can survive any powering down of the Amiga 1200 and be instantly available as soon as the computer is switched on. We are hoping it will be very useful for users.

The Flash Configurator tool lets you setup multiple configurations and there is an Early Boot Menu which lets you select the configuration you want to use.

With this product there is no need to use software such as BlizKick any longer or swap ROMs physically.

@trixster

Watch this space :-)
