2) Ping is, in fact, not really important (this is just a diagnostic tool). The most important for me is Samba (or some other network filesystem I could setup a server on the host Linux OS), as there is no way to mount the directory as a hard drive. I guess I will have to look for some other solution...

3) In fact, scsi0_cpuboard, not cpuboard_scsi0 But thank you, I didn't knew about the numbers.

I am using the OS3 to access the hardfile and transfer the files in/out of the OS4. Some people create ISO images and mount them in the emulator. You can probably also use ADFs.

I have tried to use http://aminet.net/comm/tcp/smbfs-os4.lha to access my network shares, but without success. I havent tried http://aminet.net/comm/www/webdav-handler.lha yet - maybe someday...

Hey guys,

I'm new to Amiga emulations and like to get a PPC environment running. Therefore please don't kill me for that question:
Please where can I get the rom images for the PPC boards?

I browsed the internet but don't find the approproate one. Or is there any copyright to be attended?

Many thanks and sorry for the eventually stupid question...

Hey amigafreak68k,

many thanks for your very fast answer.
Unfortunately when I select "The Zone!": access denied :-(. I guess I'm either too new in this forum or too less active...

Is there any other way? Thx, guys....

I've been trying to get PPC support working in FS-UAE. I have the appropriate files installed in the appropriate folders (cyberstormppc.rom in Kickstarts, qemu in Plugins). So far, whenever I try to boot an emulation using the A4000 (PPC) setup, I get a guru meditation screen.

Is there a specific cyberstorm rom I'm supposed to use? I downloaded the accelerators zip from the zone and used version 44_71. I'm using FS-UAE 2.5.27 to boot a 3.9 hdf with WarpUP 5.1 installed on it. The hdf boots when I use a non-PPC A4000 setup. What else can I try, as far as settings go?

Cannot install AmigaOS 4.1 FE in FS-UAE 2.5.29dev

* I am on Fedora 21
* I use the home:FrodeSolheim:devel repository for binary packages
* I built qemu-uae.so from source following the instructions in the respective README
* I created an ISO image from my copy of the Amiga OS 4.1 CD using dd
* I use the boot floppy ADF found on the Amiga OS 4.1 CD
* I set up a configuration as shown in the attachment
* Upon boot I get an "Please insert volume AmigaOS 4.1 Final Edition in any drive" system request

This is *probably* the same issue as reported here: http://eab.abime.net/showthread.php?...4&postcount=11 (workaround included). Use workaround or wait for next development version

I added a line with "accelerator_rom = cyberstormppc.rom" to my configuration. Now I do not get the "Please insert volume AmigaOS 4.1 Final Edition in any drive" system request anymore. Instead the screen stays black (waited > 10 minutes) while the fs-uae process is at 100% CPU.

Updated to FS-UAE 2.5.30. I can confirm that the workaround from http://eab.abime.net/showthread.php?...4&postcount=11 is no longer needed.

However, I am still stuck with a black screen.

I have more information: I removed the "hard_drive_0 = AmigaOS41.hdf" line from my configuration file. Instead of a black screen this got me a green screen telling me that the qemu plugin could not be loaded.

The logfile revealed that FS-UAE expects the plugin in /usr/bin/libqemu-uae.so. I copied it there from ~/FS-UAE/Plugins/qemu-uae/quemu-uae.so which allowed me to boot from the AmigaOS 4.1 CD. Without the "hard_drive_0 = AmigaOS41.hdf" line in the configuration, however, I have no target for the installation.

Adding the "hard_drive_0 = AmigaOS41.hdf" line back causes the black screen problem again.

I then added "hard_drive_0_controller = ide0" and was able to boot from the AmigaOS 4.1 CD and find the AmigaOS41.hdf harddisk on the SCSI controller. Weird.

The installation completes successfully. However, FS-UAE won't boot from AmigaOS41.hdf. I removed the ADF and ISO from the configuration and just get the kickstart animation.

This is just one of the locations where FS-UAE looks for it though, I'll soon make some clearer guidelines for where the plugins should be put.

As for the hard drive problem try adding (and re-install with):

Code:
hard_drive_0_type = rdb
