Amiga X1000 needs a next gen Launch Game
The Amiga X1000 needs a next generation Launch Game to show off it's power. The PC has got The Elder Scrolls Online. The Amiga needs Turrican 3D with cutting edge graphics, great audio score and smooth gameplay. Factor 5 should reunite for a special gathering to create the most incredible and atmospheric Turrican game ever developed using the most juice from the X1000's hardware. Any other suggestions? How about Zool 3D, Supersnake (instead of Superfrog) or Pondy (instead of James Pond).

The OS it comes with doesn't even make of most of the hardware, let alone games :P

If it sold @ $500 a copy you'd only have to sell about 3000 copies to break-even on such a thing....
Anyone who would buy an x1000 would probably not think twice about purchasing at such a price, of course make sure its digital distro only, and requires daily online activation. |

Not getting drawn into the the "Good or Bad X1000" bun fight!
However for the sake of balance I rarely get bored of gaming on my X1000, the full WHDLoad back catalogue runs flawlessly, plus there are some nice games on the X1000... Hurrican (Turrican) http://amigax1000.blogspot.fr/2012/0...-106-with.html M.A.C.E http://amigax1000.blogspot.co.uk/201...-on-x1000.html Voxel bird http://amigax1000.blogspot.co.uk/201...1_archive.html Plus loads of older ports and emulators. http://amigax1000.blogspot.co.uk/201...for-x1000.html |

and hey, I visited Finland in 1995, it was the first time I'd ever flown on a plane and it took 40 complete hours. Never slept 1 wink... I recall doing a lot of drinking and also being able to smoke on some flights... not that I smoke anymore... but again, worth something LOL ;-) Last edited by TCD; 09 June 2014 at 14:54. Actually, what we need is Knights of the Old Republic 3 =)
Surely there's an Open Source Engine out there that can handle like Mass Effect 1/2/3 and away we go? |

Guess the feasibility of making a next gen X1000 game is like striking zultanite gemstones in the mountains. Extremely rare to find and hard to cut.

Next Generation Title
Hello everyone, I'm just wondering why there aren't any next generation titles out for the latest AmigaOS like a Call Of Duty or World Of Warcraft equivalent. PC user's have got Minecraft, Amiga User's need Candycraft starring the Ninja of the 'Nth' dimension in 3D where you build sweet potions to make tools to explore new planets in deep space

I say get a licence for something like Uncharted 4 or Tekken 7 on the x1000 and I will try to get one....
And why does it have to be a next gen game? Why not something like Sony Vegas? That would be a killer app..... Last edited by Michael Sykes; 08 August 2014 at 00:07. |

Simple fact is, without a decent 3D system, any modern style game on X1000 is not feasible. Even using warp3D with a Radeon 9250 on the PCI slot is a disaster, the slot is crippled at 33mhz. I hope the X5000 has a better PCI slot.

I think it'S more about good drivers and not the HW itself.
Even Linux has better HW support than any flavour of Amiga OS.... It's really a shame. Amd Mantle would be nice!!! |
