Resolved!!!
I do the same "jump level" trick with Gloom AGA and at the start of zone 2, the game say "write enable data disk ". I do and the game continue. Later, when you run the game again you can select start the zone 1 or 2.

I do the same with Gloom Deluxe and the game run OK now to zone 2. So the data disk must be write enabled.

Great

Grrrrr; I didn't think that the game needed to write to disk, hence why I used the .IPFs.

...maybe I should swap over to the .ADF set listed above in post #1059.

Thanks again for your investigations OsabaKoldo

I've now replaced any .IPF files in the "Gloom" series with .ADF files... added bonus; there are now trainers with some of the games

So, please do the following:
  • Delete the directory "C:\WinUAE\Games\Gloom 3 - Zombie Edition AmigaCD".
  • Delete the directory "C:\WinUAE\Games\Gloom AGA".
  • Delete the directory "C:\WinUAE\Games\Gloom Deluxe".
  • Delete the directory "C:\WinUAE\Games\Gloom Special Edition 97".
  • Download / extract the archive from here into C:\WinUAE.

I slighty adjusted all Gloom series configuration files so...

With "Zombie Massacre [AmigaCD]" there are no disks (.IPFs or .ADFs) so no need to delete / update the <gamedir>.

Hmmm, I'm trying to decide whether I should change the Payback "title" screenshot in my collection ("current" versus "Update7_Patch" below)...

What do people think?

Thanks guys; I was also leaning towards the new, "Update7_Patch" title... replaced

So, please do the following:
  • Download / extract the attached archive and extract into C:\WinUAE\Games\Payback AmigaCD.

Hi Damien, how do I save my games?

Also in Cruise For a Corpse game it says to press left mouse to put the whole game (4 disks) in hard drive. I did that and it just start the game. Any idea?

Adventure games and some other genres need save disks so you use those; these will be in "C:\WinUAE\Games\<gamedir>".

Alternatively, you can also use "Save States" which are very handy for saving any position / anytime:
  • Press <F12> to bring up the GUI.
  • Select "Miscellaneous" and click "Save state..."
  • Type in a descriptive name, click "Save" and then "OK".

Where did you get that information from?

Anyway, these are the "Cruise For a Corpse" disks already populated in the "Disk swapper":

When you want to save in this game you hold down the <Right Mouse button> and then click the <Left Mouse button>, which will bring up this:

Now select "Save", put either "Cruise for a Corpse (Save Disk 1).adf" or "Cruise for a Corpse (Save Disk 2).adf" into DF0: and finally click the <Left Mouse button>

You are talking about the information when booting hey?

Read what it says carefully

Anyway, hard drive installation, be it copy / assign, native or WHDLoad, isn't too difficult... search the forum if you want to try doing this yourself

...as you stated the following:

It doesn't actually say what you've written above or automatically copy the files to hard drive...

Anyway, my answers in post #1074 and post #1075 are sufficient

I got what you're saying Damien. I thought "Press Left Mouse" was part of the sentence.

It's saying Press Left Mouse to move on. I get it. Duh!

Now that earok has finalised Area 88

...time to update this in my collection accordingly

So, please do the following:
  • Delete the file "C:\WinUAE\Configurations\U.N. Squadron SE [modification].uae".
  • Delete the directory "C:\WinUAE\Games\U.N. Squadron SE".
  • Download / extract the archive from here into C:\WinUAE.
