Amiga 500 chip mem
I recently found an a500 and think that it is actually equiped ith a fat Agnus.
I can see that only half of the ram pads are populated. Does anyone know where to get a500 chip mem blocks, so i could try to upgrade to 1 mb? I might also be interested in some zip ram blocks, since i also found an alfapower harddisk case and a supraram 500rx box. Both were non populated. |

Just use a trapdoor expansion to get the 1MB, much less hassle.

@Nikolaj
http://www.amibay.com/showthread.php...highlight=a500 the above is for an A500 Rev6a - techically you could do the same with the earier version but you will need to piggy back the right type of chips and seperate the RAS lines (as well as change JP2 and disconnect the EXRAM signal noted *JP7A on the A500 Rev6a - but could just be snipped from the GARY chip) - while the latter signals would need to be edited either way, I would go with Jope suggestion and just use and A501 or other 512KB passive ram upgrade =) |

The Rev5 is not too difficult. Just use a 3rd party ram expansion in the trapdoor, one that has a switch. Turn the switch off. Then install the 1M Agnus, isolate the pal/ntsc pin from it if you want it to boot in PAL mode and toggle the jp2 jumper on the motherboard.
