a3000 & retina z2 issues

Hi all,

I trying to get a retina z2 card to work in my a3000.
I either see a message no retina hardware found or
a error popup
"not enough memory"
error : 3501 0110 task 0747adc0

When I last had the card in my a4000 it worked with out any drama

Any ideas?

Super Buster 11 has a known bug with auto-config boards on 16MHz A3000s. I guess C= completely forgot about the 16MHz models by then.

Are you implying I should replace the 32mhz clock with a 50, set a few jumpers and life will be better?

I'm also having issues with other z-2 cards, namely a micron tech card that doesn't seem to work any more, around the same time I upgraded the super buster from -7 to -11

And --- surprise ---, after I replaced the super buster -11 with a -7 both the video card and the memory card appear to function again.

Anyway thanks for the info. I have a replacement 50 mhz clock and socket in the mail. Hopefully it will be here tomorrow and after a swap the machine will still work.

more Good news, after extensive testing the cpu and machine handles the 50 mhz with out too much drama.
The processor runs a bit hotter than I like so I put a heatsink on it, heating problem solved.

What's better is all the z2 cards work again, fpm memory doesn't cause failure errors to appear, I can boot from a generic floppy with out having to turn the cache / burst mode off
And I can partition a cf card now.

all the above were broken when running at 16 mhz,
