[WANTED] A3000 front plastic + drive
Have an Amiga 3000 where front plastic was cut out for a 3rd party drive. Looking for original faceplate, and maybe a floppy drive to restore to original.

Good luck with that. Unfortunately all the A3000D remake PCBs (e.g. AA3000+) has led to a massive demand for A3000D cases. Realistically you probably will have to repair what you've got.
Post some pictures and we'll see how bad it is and see if it is practical to repair with ABS plastic filler. https://retrohax.net/broken-plastic-case-no-problem-2/ |

I can take pics but imagine you took an Amiga 3000, took a dremel, and cut a large rectangle hole to fit a normal plain-faced half height 3.5" floppy drive where the A3000 drive was. The A3000 replacement boards look like quite a chore to populate since they aren't sold with the common parts stuffed AFAIK. Plus you still have to have all the customs from a donor. |

There's this option if you have access to a 3D printer: https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:3886056

I imagine repairing the original would be easier. |

I did a few A3000 covers and they are hard to print. I had better luck with a A4000. See picts.

Looks good.
How do you get rid of the 3D printed texture? Light sand? Acetone? |

@ blindguy
Kudos kiddo, really. - Printed! The A4KD looks okay, but the bottom of the AMIGA Logo looks rushed on it's passes & I thought the A3KD looks a bit melted & rough? Is the any finishing to do after 3D printing something? |
