64-bit Postscript error

when print postscript on 64 bit winuae, B8 give error that there is a 64 bit pointer used. see screenshot. maybe this check is in since longer time, i did not know, when print i use 32 bit winuae. i forget to start 32 bit, so i notice. Maybe it is possible for you to get after the final release of 4.2 in later beta version postscript print on 64 bit working too. in the past, postscript print do nothing on 64 bit winuae, so it was not possible to see whats wrong.but now with error message maybe there is a chance ?

How this is related to 4.2.0 betas? And not enough information.

64-bit JIT does not mean it is fully 64-bit safe. It isn't. Amiga memory still needs to be inside first 4G. (and don't ask me about JIT, I don't want to know)

EDIT: This sounds like Amiga side stack overflow. address is ":20eN" in ascii.

I notice it in this B8 beta version. if a dump can help i can send. I get this error when use final Writer and choose menu print and then in the "print to" Cycle gadget choose postcript printer" scout say free stack 60 kb free stack in finalwriter(when print requester is open and before winuae crash). there are 2 other tasks with free stack of 39 kb

In winuae setting i choose in paralel port type Post Script(ghostscript required)

my logfile look strange. there come lots of pull overflow messages(during boot and before print try). i use intel onboard graphic of H310 chipset on i8600K CPU

Usual debugging needed first (and more information): Does it really happen only when JIT is enabled? Does it happen when using 32-bit version? Do you have latest ghostscript? (you didn't even mention you used ghostscript in original post! it sounded like you used some windows postscript printer directly.)

I use newest ghostscrript 9.27. i have 64 bit and 32 bit version ghostscript install and 32 bit winuae 4.2.0 final work ok with jit. when disable JIT in 64 bit version crash happen too, and a minidump is save. but the message about 64 bit pointer in log window did not come.let know if you need minidump of 4.2.0 final 64 bit

does ghostscript print work on 64 bit on your PC ?

Last time I tested it did work but earlier it didn't. I am not sure whats the reason.

non-jit dump file probably helps (or it shows the crash inside ghostscript.dll which isn't that useful..)

crash inside ghostscript is possible(was last time too) because when the winuae code can not handle the 64 bit pointer correct and truncate 32 bit, then ghostscript get wrong handle and crash.

maybe you can add in non jit cpu emulation that it can output the 64 bit pointer error message same as with JIT and it help to see the crash better ?

You are jumping to conclusions because ghostscript has no access to Amiga side and has nothing to do with JIT. It just gets whatever emulated parallel port receives, running completely in Windows side.

I get ghostscript now working too. I have a old gsdll64.dll file 9.18 in winuae dir. this file is load earlier as program files\gsdll64.dll 9.27. i delete the file in winaue dir and now postscript with ghostscript work with 64 bit winuae
