It is funny, I used to service TVs/Camcorders/VCRs/Stereos for Sears and my 1084 is dead and I never even got around to ever fixing that... cause it is large and bulky and doesn't fit on my desk anymore.

Anyone in EU that wants to do A3000 recaps and maybe some general TLC? ;-) I hear some of the recappers out there don't like working with the A3000.
I see retro passion has it listed, but dealing with UK parcels got less fun after Brexit..

Stay away from Retropassion

Hopefully you get sorted out. I think there is someone in Sweden that does them? Chucky?

Have you tried contacting Hesse?

I do know a guy here in the U.K who does them if you really get stuck. PM me if you want his details

I would also agree that you don't want to send your board to RP .

My honest advice as a repairer (and I have repaired A3000s) is that your A3000 motherboard would probably not need a re-cap. However it is worth replacing the 4 x PALs with modern low-power devices (sometimes referred to as GALs), which you can probably swap out yourself.

If you are using the original A3000 PSU, then that PSU will probably be in need of a re-cap though...

Hardware repair services

Thanx @Jpor There are definitely ppl in Sweden who have the knowhow but I respect the decidion if someone doesnt want to work with certain models for some reason. But Ill continue to look around.

@rvctech Ive heard this too, but Im pretty sure at least one of the big caps (near the daughterboard) needs replacing and some cleanup. I can do through-hole soldering so I could do some work myself but I have zero prior experience with A3000 mobos.
And yes its the original PSU.
Whats the situation with the daughterboard caps?

I don't think that the daughterboard capacitors would normally be in particular need of replacement either, unless you see clear signs of damage or failure or you are experiencing some issue that suggests a problem there. Those capacitors are for decoupling the +5V rail, roughly one per slot. Do you have a picture of the suspect capacitor near your daughterboard?

The capacitors in your original PSU are probably the most urgent.
